50+ people gathered in Dublin to build AI for positive impact with Manus AI. One evening. 33 projects. Every single one deployed as a live website.

What happened at the AI for Good hackathon in Dublin?
The AI for Good hackathon took place in Dublin on 26th January 2026, organised by Kevin Collins and Anthony Fildes in partnership with Manus AI. Over 50 participants built 33 complete projects in a single evening, all deployed as live websites. The winning project was an interactive peatland conservation dashboard. Every project addressed a real-world cause, from public health surveillance to food waste reduction.
TL;DR
- •50+ builders in Dublin for a one-evening hackathon with Manus AI
- •33 projects built and deployed as live websites, every single one
- •Winner: Peatlands of the Udmurt Republic (97 pts) — conservation and carbon sequestration dashboard
- •Projects spanned health, environment, education, accessibility, and community
- •Proof of what a room full of people can build in one session when the tools are good enough
01.The Brief Was Simple
Build something that makes a positive impact. That was it. No complicated rules, no narrow categories. Just pick a cause you care about and build something real.
The event was organised by Kevin Collins and Anthony Fildes, in partnership with Manus AI. Everyone got a Manus account for the evening, pizza, and a few hours to turn an idea into a deployed website with real research behind it.
What made this different from most hackathons: the output wasn't slides or mockups. Every project was a live, deployed website by the end of the night. Manus handled the research, content generation, and deployment pipeline, which meant people could focus entirely on their cause and what they wanted to communicate.
02.What You Can Build in One Session
The real story here is the range. 33 projects spanning peatland ecology, antimicrobial resistance, food waste, mental health, biodiversity, flood monitoring, aviation carbon, kidney health, financial literacy, and more. Each one built by a single person in a single evening.
This is what happens when the gap between “I care about this” and “I built something for it” shrinks to a few hours. The barrier wasn't technical skill. The barrier was always time and tooling. Manus removed both.
Some projects were data dashboards. Others were educational platforms. Some were practical tools for specific communities. The common thread: every one of them went from idea to live URL in the same evening.

05.What This Proves
A room of 50 people produced 33 deployed projects in one evening. Not prototypes. Not pitch decks. Live websites with real research, real data, and real utility.
This is the shift. The tools are now good enough that the bottleneck is no longer “can I build this?” but “what should I build?” When you give people a cause and the right tools, the output is remarkable.
Kevin Collins ran this as a Manus Fellow, with Anthony Fildes co-organising. Thanks to everyone who participated, and to Manus AI for partnering on the event. Donation announcement coming soon.
