Introducing Fractal: One Workspace Where AI Agents Do the Work
Echofold is launching Fractal, one workspace where AI agents write the code, run the workflows and keep a business moving while you're away. It opens in private beta with four apps, and invite codes go out through the Echofold newsletter.
What is Fractal?
Fractal is a new AI ecosystem from Echofold in Dublin: one workspace where AI agents do the work and you make the calls. It launches in private beta with Fractal Code, which runs a coordinator and six coding agents, plus Fractal Workflows, Fractal Secrets and Fractal Agent, with Work, Research and Plan to follow. Agents run on your own always-on, encrypted server, using the AI models you choose.
TL;DR
- Fractal launches in private beta with four apps: Code, Workflows, Secrets and Agent. Work, Research and Plan are on the way.
- Fractal Code takes a build all the way to production with a coordinator and six coding agents, running unattended for days or even weeks.
- Bring your own AI. Claude Code, Codex and open-source models, on your subscriptions or API keys, with the work spread across the limits left on each.
- It keeps going when you don't. Agents run on your own always-on, encrypted server, so nothing stops when your laptop does.
- Invite codes go out through the Echofold newsletter. Join it to get into the beta.
01.Why Echofold built Fractal
Most AI tools still need someone in front of them, typing the next prompt and checking the last answer. Fractal is built on the opposite idea, the line that opens the Echofold homepage: agents do the work, and you make the calls. Its agents share the load, check each other's work and only stop for you when there's a real decision to make, from one bug fix to a whole company. As the homepage puts it, AI should get you away from your screen, not keep you in front of it for 12 hours.
Fractal grew out of what Kevin Collins has learned teaching AI: more than 25 events and over 2,000 people in the past 14 months. A week before the launch, on stage at the National AI Meet in Galway, he described what he had built.
“I've built my own harness that I'm going to be releasing as a product. I've basically 100% automated the full SDLC process.” Kevin Collins, National AI Meet 2026
The name says how it works. A fractal is one pattern repeated at every scale, and Fractal brings the same way of working to a single task, a full software build or the running of a small business.
02.What's in Fractal at launch
Fractal is an ecosystem rather than a single tool. Four apps are in the private beta from the start, and they work as one: Workflows plans the work, Code carries it out, Secrets holds the keys it needs, and Agent tells you how it's all going. Three more are on the way.
- Fractal CodePrivate betaRun many coding agents at once without them tripping over each other. One coordinator hands out the work and checks it before it lands, and one screen shows you what every agent is doing.
- Fractal WorkflowsPrivate betaStart from a free template or a blank board, shape it with AI and hand it to Fractal Code to run. Chain workflows on a canvas and a whole business build, from idea to pitch deck, runs as one project.
- Fractal SecretsPrivate betaOne place for the passwords and keys your projects use. You choose what each project may do with them. Fractal doesn't give the values to your agents, and every use is recorded.
- Fractal AgentPrivate betaFrack and Rua answer out loud. Type, talk or drop in a picture to ask what your agents are doing, open a workflow or check on a project, and nothing changes until you say yes.
- Fractal WorkComing soonYour inbox, your to-do lists and the rest of the working day in one place, planned with AI or by hand, with the same agents on hand to help clear it.
- Fractal ResearchComing soonLong-running research that shows its sources and its working, built for questions where being roughly right is not good enough.
- Fractal PlanComing soonWork out what your next project is and how it breaks down, before any agent starts on it.
03.Fractal Code: a team of coding agents that ships
Hand Fractal Code a plan and a team of coding agents builds the whole thing. One coordinator hands out the work, keeps the agents out of each other's way and checks every change before it lands. It takes a build all the way to production on its own, running unattended for days or even weeks.
Nobody has to watch it. The coordinator answers routine questions, approves safe steps and swaps a finished worker for a fresh one, and only asks you when a call needs making. Work can start from a plan built in Fractal Workflows or from the tickets you already have.
- a coordinator and six coding agents, each on its own task in its own copy of the code
- 1 + 6
- security scanners on every change before it lands
- 2
- merge to main at a time, each one checked against the latest version
- 1
Every change is tested and scanned for security holes, risky libraries and leaked passwords before it lands. Only new problems hold a change up, so years of old warnings never stall new work, and changes merge one at a time, each checked against the latest version, with a record of every check.
04.Fractal Workflows: plans your agents can run
Fractal Workflows turns a template or a blank board into a plan agents can carry out: a board of stages and steps, with a brief and the working rules every agent follows. Ask AI to reshape it and you see each change before it's made.
Workflows chain together on a canvas, and the whole chain goes to Fractal Code as one project, each workflow starting when the ones before it have finished. The first topic is Business: eleven templates that take a new company from testing the idea to pitching it, 82 steps when chained, with a working prototype template on the way. Workflows are encrypted in your browser before they're saved.
05.Fractal Secrets: one place for your keys
Fractal Secrets is one place for the passwords and keys your projects use. You choose what each project may do with them, project by project and action by action. Fractal doesn't give the values to your agents, and every use is recorded. Once saved, a value is never shown, copied or filled in again: it can only be replaced or revoked.
06.Fractal Agent: talk to your workspace

Fractal Agent is how you talk to the whole workspace, through two characters, Frack the frog and Rua the fox. Type a message, drop in a picture or just talk, and they answer out loud, sentence by sentence in their own voices, usually in under two seconds. Ask how your projects are going, what your agents are working on or where a workflow is up to. Pick Frack, Rua or both: together they talk to each other, and each can take on a separate task.
Anything that would change something asks you in the chat first, passwords and keys are masked in everything they read from Fractal Code's terminals, and conversations stay in your browser's memory rather than being stored. They work hands-free too, so you can check on a build from the car. Drafting your email and sorting your finances arrive with Fractal Work, which is coming soon.
07.Your AI, your budget, your server
Fractal isn't a model. It runs the AI you already pay for: Claude Code, Codex and open-source models work side by side on the same job, on your subscriptions or API keys, or open-source models paid for as you go. Fractal spreads the work across your subscriptions based on the limits left on each, so one busy week doesn't leave you stuck, and it shows what AI has cost you on every project.
Your agents run in the cloud on your own encrypted, always-on server, so nothing stops when your laptop does, or Fractal Code can run on your own Windows machine. Each agent works in its own copy of the code, and passwords and keys live in Fractal Secrets. Close the laptop, head for the beach or the hills, and the work carries on.
08.The engine behind 1WK
Fractal Code is the build engine behind 1WK, a one-week programme in Dublin where five founders walk in with an idea and walk out with a full production product, a customer-ready business around it, and customers. Not a prototype, not a deck: the real product, live on the Friday.
A week is enough because the build never stops. Fractal Code coordinates coding agents around the clock, so the product keeps moving while the founders learn, make decisions and sell to real customers. As 1WK puts it:
- Work starts before you arrive.Market and competitor research is prepared around each founder's idea.
- Build time is not workshop time.Product work continues while the cohort learns and sells.
- You are never watching a progress bar.Every hour is used to make the company more real.
Cohort 01 runs in Dublin from Saturday 5 to Friday 11 December 2026. 1WK takes 0% equity, and applications close on 31 October 2026.
